The story of Dumbhdarana is a significant part of the Ramayana. Dumbhdarana was the brother of Ravana, the demon king of Lanka. He was a great devotee of Lord Brahma and performed severe penance to please him. Pleased with his devotion, Lord Brahma appeared before him and granted him a boon. Dumbhdarana asked for immortality, but Brahma denied this request, stating that all beings must experience death. However, he gave Dumbhdarana the power to choose his death. Dumbhdarana, in his arrogance, chose to die at the hands of a man, thinking that no man could ever defeat him. This proved to be his downfall when he was killed by Rama, an avatar of Lord Vishnu, during the battle of Lanka.

Khumbhkaran, another brother of Ravana, played a crucial role in the Ram-Ravana battle. Despite being a demon, Khumbhkaran was known for his wisdom and was against the abduction of Sita by Ravana. However, when the war broke out, he chose to stand by his brother. Khumbhkaran was a formidable warrior and caused great destruction in Rama's army. He was eventually killed by Rama. His death was a significant turning point in the war, demoralizing the demon army and bringing them closer to defeat.
