Navratri is celebrated for 9 days. Garba dance events are organized throught Gujrat during Navratri. Vijaadashmi Vijayadashmi is 10th day. Karwa ChauthKarwa Chauth is women festival mostly celebrated in west and North India.

Diwali Days

1. Dhanetras or Dhanatrayodashi is day when People in West India buy metal - Silver, Gold. Brass is also bought.
dx 2. Narakachaturdashi or Thalai Deepavali, Choti diwali This is day when newly wed couple go to bride parents house. Preparation for this day start a day or two early. People clean the oven in kitchen, smeared the oven with lime, few kumkum dots are put on oven, and then oven is filled with water for the next day's oil bath.
As Diwali is time to clean and decorate house for Laxmi maata, in south India the home, offices are cleaned, washed, decorated with rangaoli (also called kolam ) design. People use flowers, color/ kavi.
Many houses has pooja room or pooja areas in house. People keep flower, sandel paste, betel leaves, betel nuts, plaintain fruits, kumkum, gingelly oil, turmeric powder. These are items used in Pooja.
3. Diyas are let, Rangolis are drawan, Lakshmi Puja is most important event of Diwali. In night Fireworks are burst to celebrate Diwali.
4. Govardhan Puja is performed on the fourth day. It is believed that Lord Krishna has lifted Govardhan Parvat to save people from Rain.
5. Bhai Doojin West India is 5th and last day of Diwali Festival. On this day sister put tilak on their brother forehead.
