Krishna Janmashtami Festival Celebration

On Janamasthami temples and at home - people decorate idol of Krishna and place them on swing. (It denote welcome of child). People visit temple and welcome lord Krishna by swinging the cradle. This continues till midnight. Krishna was born at midnight. In Vaishnava temples, Janamasthami is festival begin before 1 day before Janamasthami. It start with dawn and extend all day until midnight, the time of Krishna birth.
In temple people organize kirtan, chant Krishna name and songs. Some devotees cook a feast of over one hundred dishes, while others perform drama and dance. There is a tradition of decorating the deity of Krishna while others string enormous flower garlands and other decorations for the temple. Incense burns, scriptures are read, and all but the young and the infirm fast all day. The deities are also bathed with a variety of auspicious liquids in a kind of ablution ceremony called abhisheka. Sometimes taking over two hours, this is performed with great pomp.
Finally, at midnight (time of Krishna brirth), priests pull apart the curtains to reveal the freshly dressed deity of Krishna.

In this a Handi full of Dahi is hanged at a height. Group of people make a human pyramid, climb on each other. The person at top break handi (earthen pot ) filled with buttermilk (curd).
